Transverse and uncomfortable

Hi all

I would really appreciate any ones experience/advice on this one. My baby's lying transverse and i'm now 35 wks. Sleeping is becoming impossible and it's gone from being a bit un comfortable to really painful as the baby's getting bigger and stronger. I've heard they can still turn but is this painful and should i get it done by the obs dr?

Has anyone used other methods ie chiro/accupuncture and if so what happened.

Thanks a lot i feel like a wuss but it's becoming a hard position as i'm only a small frame.

Take care

Re: Transverse and uncomfortable

I had discomfort for a few weeks with a transverse baby, but it turned on its own.  One thing I found helpful was a brace which helped support my belly and it also helped with my pelvic pain too.  I got it from a lady (physio) called Ingrid Mitton who is in the mont albert area, she made them herself and they were far cheaper and better than others I looked at and one I ever bought which was hopeless.

Good luck.

Jodi

Re: Transverse and uncomfortable

It is very painful to turn, unfortunately.  An old wives tale I've heard is to try and bend over for about 20mins a day everyday to try and "trick" the baby into moving.  You can try to do it yourself as well.  I was able to get my girl to move buy playing with her and poking my stomach on the side.  She went headdown the first time.  But I would talk to the doc because it is causing you so much pain.  Good luck!

Re: Transverse and uncomfortable

Chiropractors can help turn your baby. Find one that is holistic-minded in your area and tha specializes in pregnancy.

HTH.
