ANY ONE THAT HAS A SLIGHT IDEA PLEASE ADVISE!!! Im am a bloody mess, my son and i both have conjunctavitis. he is 6 months old. they say that if your breast feeding to squirt milk into there eyes. Im not breast feeding. what can i do to get this away in a hurry. we cant get a dr's appt for over a week!!! unles we travel 670km!
conjunctivitis is so horrible. go to the chemist and get some drops. they always clear it up when we get it. you could try salt and warm water, but i always find it never works aswell.
GOODNESS ME!!! I grew up with conjunctivits, seriously 2 times a month!!! boil water, put a tea bag in let soak, put in fridge with teabag still in the cup just leave it there, get a flannel or tissue once cup is cool or slightly warm, start from nose side and wipe out. Change area of tissue each time, and same for other side. Really does work a treat!
This is exactly what I was going to suggest, (great minds think alike!) I hope it clears up soon. P.S remember to wash your hands thoroughly before and after treatment as it can spread so easily.
If you can get to a chemist/drug store/pharmacy buy some saline solution to flush eyes with. They might have something else as well that will help at least relieve the symptoms until you can get in to see a doctor, eye drops or the like might ease the horrid itchy dry sensation at least. Worth a try at least.
Warm compresses work wonders. Clean the eyes every few hours and everytime your son wakes from his naps. This normally will go away on it's own in about a week or so. It's a cold in the eye, that's all it really is. Unless it's swelling or causing severe pain, keep the warm water on the eyes as much a possible. I would not recomend putting anything else in the eyes. You can give him some tylenol for the pain if he seems uncomfortable from it. You can also make a salt water solution to wipe the eyes and put a drop in. Take a 1/4cup of warm water to a 1/4 tsp of salt. This also works great to stuff noses. Good luck, hope you both get better soon.
Wipe the eye with cotton wool soaked with warm water. Wipe the eye once only with each piece of cotton wool, wiping from the inner corner (near the nose) outward. You both needed medicated cream though - would the doctor get you in if you explain your 6 month old had this? Or is there a hospital you can take him to to get a doctors script? If not, all you can do is keep cleaning the eyes with the cotton wool. As I said, make sure you wipe each eye once only with each piece of cotton wool (if you don't have cotton wool use tissues) because if you use the same piece you'll put the infection back into the eye. Clean both eyes, even if it only seems to be in one.
