Introducing eggs

I want to start introducing eggs to my boys diet.  What is the best way to go about it?  Do I hard boil the egg and then, cut it up and give him bits to try or should I mix it in something first say an omelette?

Our girls love scrambled eggs.  Try him with some of that and see how he goes.

Re: Introducing eggs

I would definately try scrammbled first. My youngest loves scrammbled eggs. Now he's much older he likes poached eggs on toast. You can even put a bit of  grated cheese in the scrammbled eggs too.

Re: Introducing eggs

Hi, when I gave my boys eggs for the first time I gave them scrambled eggs with butter. They're still not keen on boiled or fried eggs and will not even try poached eggs. One of them will eat an omelette at a push. One they will both eat is'gypsy toast'. Beat 3 eggs in a bowl and soak bread in the mixture for 5 mins.Shallow the soaked bread in butter in a shallow frying pan.Good luck.

Re: Introducing eggs

Hi matey,

Perhaps you should try him with some cup cakes with eggs . . If all goes fine then you could try giving him some poached eggs . .

I am about to start this too and my daughter has several food allergies as you all know  . The dietician suggested the ways above to me . .

Cheers Kellz

Re: Introducing eggs

Give it to him however you like - scrambled is probably easy for him to eat. Only give him a small portion to start with in case he is allergic.

Re: Introducing eggs

sorry, not sure how old your bub is, but if he's under 1 you're not supposed to give them egg white due to allergies, but they can eat egg yolk from 8 months.

if he's over one, then maybe start with scrambled eggs, or an omelette, it's easy to eat with fingers or a etensil and pretty easy to clean up. most kids like scrambled eggs :)
