Discoloured Teats

Hi all, I just bought some new silicon teats for Dylan's bottles and they got put in the dishwasher and came out kinda orange.

Does anyone know how to make them clear again, i've tried using the steam steraliser but they are still discoloured?

Re: Discoloured Teats

Hi ours did this as we had had pasta with a sauce the night before! The colour faded a little but they are fine. Always put babies teats etc only in the top part of the dishwasher-not sure why but I read it some time ago and the other day I bought a baby bowl and it said the same so thought I'd mention it!

I didn't find anything that helped and I know it looks bad but there really is nothing wrong with them, they just look ugly.....LOL

Re: Discoloured Teats

It most likely wont come out.  Especially if you had any kind of tomatoe or carrot remains in the dishwasher as it will always stain the silicone teats.  But it won't change how it works or flavor....good luck and if you find a way, let me know as I have some colored as well...

Well, it's not sounding good. I'm going to try good old milton solution. Will let you know what happens.

Re: Discoloured Teats

Its unlikely you'll be able to get rid of the discolouration.. If its merely stained you could try bleach.. But its more likely to be caused by a chemical reaction between the cleaning solvents used in dishwasher chemicals & the silicone. Careful to wash dishwasher tablet/powder off your skin immediately; it can burn!
