Just wanted to add that if the cow's milk is not a big hit you can always flavor it wihtmix in flavors like Nestle's Quick.

My pediatrician who is a stickler for "following the rules and guidelines" on when to add foods or give cow's milk, always told me it was fine to give milk at one year.  By one year, their little tummies are able to digest the proteins in cow's milk just fine and most allergies have already been weeded out.  I would go ahead and give the cow's milk at one year.

P.S. Just think of the money you'll save not having to buy that obscenely expensive formula!!!

My daughter was on whole milk at about 9m.  She never had a problem with it and loved it right away.  What I did when I switched her was to take one bottle and make it whole milk and the rest formula.  Then after a few days I would take another bottle and make it whole milk.  I did that over about a 2 week period (also to finish out the formula) decreasing the amount of formula and increasing the whole milk one bottle at a time.  It's up to you as to when you want to switch over.  Good luck!

I started just before each of mine turned 1 but not full strength. Decrease the amount of formula & add cow's milk, gradually increasing the cow's milk over a couple of months (or more if you think it necessary) : )

I gave my son cow's milk right at 12 months. I gave it to him as a replacement for one breastfeeding and it worked out well. He took to it without a problem.

My twins just turned 1 last week and I just started them on cow's milk a few days ago. They didn't like the taste at first, but after the 2nd time they took it without a problem. Right now it is a replacement for one breastfeeding as well, as I am on the process of weaning. I give it to them at the same time everyday and they love it.  I am finding that they get red spots on their faces though, but it goes away within 20 minutes. I thought they could be allergic to dairy, but the pediatrician said this is atypical. He said allergy to cow's milk usually manifests itself through upset stomach.

You can try giving your baby cow's milk (just a little bit) and see her reaction. If she doesn't like it, you can slowly mixed it in with the formula and gradually increase the mix to have more cow's milk.

Personally I put Amy on cows milk as soon as she was a year old and she took very well to it. I gave her whole / full fat milk and monitored things like her poo and any rashes to make sure she wasn't intolerant to lactose. All is well now and she still enjoys about a pint a day.

if she is happy on what she is taken now, i would personally just go to the next stage of the formula to she is 18 months.... but if its a cost effective , and you really feel you are ready to put her on cows milk , then i would recommend you introduce it to her slowly, and during the day just in case she doesnt settle with it..

With all mine i done what i have said here, and also used to put pentavite in their bottles, and its a vitamin liquid that u can get at the chemist...
