Sorry but just want some input here. I'm in the first tri mester of my second pregnancy, heading for the second trimester very soon. I've had a urinary tract infection and it has seemed to of returned. Anyway, I seem to have some brownish discharge. It's not alot but enough to be noticeable. Is there something really wrong here or could it be the return of the Urinary tract infection?? Could be baby be in danger???
bleeds can happen in pregnancies. i've heard of some people having not knowing they were pregnant til later on as they've thought they were still getting their period. i also had a bleed at 24 weeks after having intercourse (which is common), i got it checked out just in case and found that nothing was wrong. my advice would be to get checked out just in case. it is possible to have blood in your pee when you have a UTI aswell.
Some women do still get a little bit of a monthly bleed so it could be that (blood can often look brown). If it is blood, though, you should get checked up just in case. You can never be too careful with pregnancies. The fact that is was only a small discharge indicates it is nothing to worry about but get a check-up just to be on the safe side :)
I'm sure there is nothing too serious to worry about. I'd go and see your doctor/midwife or call the Maternity Dept at the hospital and explain what has happened. My guess would be that your uti might be back, they can be really hard to get rid of when you are pregnant. Good luck
Hey UTI'S are very common during pregnancy and for alot of people they continue to return during there whole pregnancy. To have brown discharge is a sign of infection and you should go in and see your midwife/doctor asap so they can treat the problem.
I'ld say keep an eye on it and I really think that you should ring your maternity department (you should have a listing in ante-natal material) just to ask a professional. I never had that happen with urinary infections but I don't know if it happens in other cases. Small one off smears are fairly common. I think the best to do would be calm and don't stress it will put your mind to rest if you ring ands its better be safe than sorry. The staff won't be at all put out. Hope all goes well.
