Re: Moving

I'm sorry, but I don't think moving is every easy...You can make it less stressful though by doind one project at a time..i.e packing six boxes and then taking a break and doing something else...giving yourself plenty of time to pack and move etc...

Re: Moving

My tip is buy boxes and butchers paper.  The boxes make life so much easier, they are bigger, and they are uniform, they make it all easier.  Butchers paper beats newspaper as you don't have newsprint marks anywhere, and your plates can go away as soon as they are unwrapped.

Re: Moving

I know this sounds like a really stupid question, but where do you get butchers paper? Do butchers really sell it to members of the public, or do you have to buy it from somewhere special?

Re: Moving

Well I would be brave enough to ask my butcher, but if you aren't when I last got it I got it from a removalist who advertised in the local paper that they sold moving boxes, the boxes were about $4 each many years ago, but they also sold butcher paper.  The other place I would try is storage places, I saw a billboard the other day out the front of one of those big storage places to say they sold boxes, usually boxes and butchers paper goes together.

The final place you might look is at one of those craft warehouses, but I would try the above first.  You might even ask your local fish and chip shop.

Good luck, but I got mine from a removalist and you buy it by the reem or half a reem, I don't remember the cost, but the leftovers make great drawing paper.

Re: Moving

Get someone else to do it!!! LOL

The secret is to be super organised. I have moved a few times with kids and it can be a nightmare if you are not organised. If possible take your time with packing. Have lots of friends to help. Have someone look after the kids on moving day.
