I've not been through it, but sounds like an option for me after #5 comes along! lol.  chemical contraceptives don't work for me at all, and I sooooo don't want any more babies for at least another 5 years! lol.

its a good question as i would concider doing it also.. i find it very easy to have kids and i feel for those women who really want to become mums but i worry that i would feel attached to any child produced ..

They don't reccomend doing this until you are sure that you have finished having your own family. From what I can remember it is just like IVF with the needles and drugs to make you produce a whole lotta eggs then they harvest them. Best bet is to google it I think.

Re: becoming an egg donor

I thought about it breifly too, but no one would want my eggs, they are too defective.  We have all the genetic diseases in our family, type one diabetes, cystic fibrousis, telapies, although two healthy children, I wouldn't risk it.  So your genetic make up is considered, so you will get all sorts of blood tests first.

The drugs, fertility drugs, to help you produce eggs, can give some very moody side affects.  I know women who have ceased in their attempts to have more children, as they don't like their reaction to the fertility treatment.  You might find it easier to find someone who has been on the fertility drugs who can tell you the side affects of these, but it is the same drugs as are used for egg donation, other than that, the process of retreiving the eggs I don't think is that intusive.

I hope this helps.  All the best in your endeavours.

Jodi
