Migraines

I have always suffered from migraines but lately they have changed. My most recent ones are affecting my bowels etc and I am vomiting even worse than ever. The pain from them is way over 10.

I am curious to know if this is just another type of migraines. I am hoping that some minti mums to give me an idea.

Re: Migraines

I used to suffer from the real incapacitating migraines in my teen years, now I get the light sensitive ones that can last for a few days, but I can still function.  These are usually pregnancy related or an indication I've done to much around the house and pinched a nerve in my back.

My husband suffers terrible migraines, and the last one, he freaked me out because he just kept beating his head against the floor in the toilet.

Migraines are still not widely understood by the medical community.  Everyone has different triggers and symptoms, so there is no cure all solution.  All you can really do is be prepared when you feel it coming on.

Empty bladder and bowels if you can, and keep your fluids up.  A quiet dark room to lay down and maybe before you get to the vomiting point, a migraine tablet to help you to sleep and ease the pain.

Yes, I agree - get checked out. Have you ever had any cat scans or anything before? I don't mean to worry you, but I know someone who suffered migraines for years, she finally had a cat scan & she had a large cyst on her brain. She had it removed & has been fine since. Again, don't mean to worry you or scare you, you may not have anything like that, but the possibility is always there.

Re: Migraines

Hey, my SIL gets really bad migraines, Has seen a nuerologist's had cat scans etc, all clear at this point but the nuerologist told her if her migraines change at all she has to see a doctor, and I have even heard it elsewhere. If you suffer from migraines regularly, if they change, go and see a doc. That is all I can say sorry!

Hi there,

I completely agree with ANON . . I suffer from severe migraines and my doctor has always told me that if they change then I should let him know asap as there could be something more serious going on . .

Cheers Kellz

Re: Migraines

I have suffered from migraines since i was about 10 and when i get a migraine which is regularly i tend to go to sleep asap to avoid it hitting this stage as when i get them after an hour or so i start to feel sick and really need the toilet so i think it is quite normal i just hide under the quilt until it is gone LOL
