anybody know what this means???

My baby has been in the head down position since 30weeks, On tuesday at my app the midwife siad that he is really low into my pelvis. In my vmr (hospital book) it says "station: 3/5"   Does anybody know what this means?

They measure the babies postistion in relation to the peliv opening (which is sit right at the opening of the cervix.  0 station means the babies head is ingaged and at the pelvic opening.  +1 means that the head ispassing thru the opening.  -1 means that is is just above the pelvic opening in the uterus.  And the higher up(away from the pelvic opening into the uterus the higher the numer -3/5.  Hope that makes sense.

Hey thanks for that. But how do i know if its +3 or -3 because the baby is really low.

lol +3 would mean you're giving birth already honey as the baby would have moved past the cervix, so you're -3 :)
