Runny Poo

Maybe someone can help me out a little.
I believe that my daughter is lactose intolerant, her poo has been nothing but very runny, never solid at all. I changed her milk(from 2%) to be lactose free(Lactaid) and her poo is still runny.

What milk could I put her on? Goats milk?

Re: Runny Poo

My son was lactose intolerant until he was about 2 1/2 and we tried soy milk, goats milk and even rice milk until we found one he liked and it changed at different times too.  To start with we took  him off all dairies (milk, cheese and yoghurt - all except breast milk) for a week and that made a huge difference.  Then I slowly introduced soy yoghurt, soy cheese & the different milks.  Every so often we would try the dairies to see what difference it made and eventually we realised he had grown out of it.  WE did all this with the dr's ok and advice, so maybe talk to your paediatrician or gp to ensure you are doing the right thing and if you do take her off dairies be aware of her calcium levels and buy calcium enriched products.

Re: Runny Poo

hi honey sorry for whats happening its shocking and scary, so i feel for you. when skye kept projectile vomiting we had to change from full fat to soya milk and she was 15 months old!! now she has settleled on semi skimmed but there are still things that set her off like yoghurts cheese which she adores and anything in foods as they still contain lactose, i would say be sure she is def allergic by going docs and always read labels as so many things contain milk in some shape or form, the tru free range we have in supermarkets are really good for lactose intollerant people..goodluck honey!!!

Re: Runny Poo

Hi, if you have problems with goats milk, maybe you could try soy milk.  Whenever Jaydee has the flu or a funny tummy, we put him straight on it, and things improve right away.  Let us know how you go with the goats milk; if it works; what it is like as a price comparison; and what it tastes like : )
