Im not sure whats going on. Ive been having alot of contractions earlier this morning but they are all over the place. The past 3-4 hrs ive been having stabbing like pains in my vagina and can feel the baby really low. Before when i went to the toilet i noticed that my underwear was a little bit wet and seen some discahrge.I changed my underwaear and put a pad on. Now when i just went toilet the pad is a little bit wet, not drenched tho, it does have a little bit of a urine smell to it but not strong.
So is this my waters or is it the pressure from bubs making me wet myself??
It sounds like you have a slow leak of the waters. I had this with #4 over about 3 days before she was born. It is normal, and as long as the fluid is clear, there should be no problems. Labour should start within a few days, if not, you should get checked out.
The pressure you feel means bubs head is moving down, all good. Hopefully, this being your first, things will be quick for you!!!!!!
I agree for you to go and get checked. It sounds like you may be dialting with the pains and it could be that your water broke. It's not uncommon to leak, especially if bub has dropped and engaged himself. This happened to me with #1, I though my water broke and got checked, it didn't, but the next day I had her. Your so close, sounds like he is coming in a few days!!!!! But to be safe get checked cause you don't want to go over 24 hrs with your water broken as you run the risk of him getting a terribly infection. Keep us posted, ok?
Go in and get checked. They will usually have a look inside to see if it was waters or not. Keep your pad because the midwifes can check it to see if it is waters or urine.
Hi Dannii! Sounds just like when no 2 was born. I woke with sharp stabbing pains in the pelvis and when I rang the hospital they said to come in and have it checked. I had a shower before I went and felt my waters break as I came out - it was just a gush of fluid and I thought (like you) - did I just wee everywhere? But from memory the smell was quite different. Labour still took a while for us and when B was born she had a red circle on her head from sitting on the cervix for so long with no waters to protect her.
Anyway, I would say ring your midwife! She will know whether they should check it out and may even tell you to come in prepared to stay (mine did)! If not, being home is more comfortable and may make it happen more easily, but I think most drs like to intervene after 24 hrs of water breaking to avoid the risk of infection. Either way, it sounds exciting and we'll be watching you for more news!
Sounds like things are going to be happening soon. Give your midwife a ring sooner rather than later. Good luck Danni. We are all looking forward to hearing the good news. Best wishes, Karen. xx.
call the hospital and speak to the midwives. it is more than likely the pressure on your bladder. But keep a pad on incase it is your waters. if they ask you to come in they will use a cotton tip that will change to blue i think if it is the fluid.
