Re: Can anyone exlain what this is??

Hi Dannii,

I'm getting this too, and I think it is because bubs head is pushing deeper into the pelvic region.  This puts pressure on the nerves around your legs, and will feel like an electric shock.  It happens when you stand up because gravity suddenly takes over and bubs is pushed further into the pelvic region.

It is normal, annoying, but normal.  It is also a sign that bubs is dropping.  Walking around will help to relieve it, as will sitting with your legs slightly raised.

This pain is common to feel months before bubs is born, though will get more intense the closer to your due date you are, or more correctly, the closer bubs decides they are ready to come.  Gentle walking and stretching, warm showers or baths and lots of backrubs all help to increase blood flow to the area, making the pain less severe.  They all also help to support the muscles and avoid more severe muscular issues either in later pregnancy or post pregnancy.

You only have a few hours to prove me right Dannii! lol.  Oh well, if not this weekend, then Wednesday!
