poo problem

this one is from Karen, but her computer is stuffed so i am asking. Anthony has just turned two and he has been pulling his nappy off for ages and leaving delightful brown art everywhere. she has tried putting the nappy on backwards, she has tried putting him in jocks and about a hundred other things to get him to either learn how to use the potty or not take his nappy off straight after he does a poo. she is also pretty time poor so she needs a relatively easy solution to implement. Kiall suggested gaffa tape round the top of the nappy so he cant get to the tabs but she was wondering if any of you have been through something similar and had any solutions to offer? i will pass on any suggestions to her. ta much in advance peoples ::)'s from becca!

Re: poo problem

I went throught the same thing. The only thing that worked for me was draw string pants done in a knot they cant pull them down.and if you cant be bothered undoing a knot turn them backwards and do a ting bow .

Good luck cause i no what you are going thru

Re: poo problem

Yeah, been through this wonderful little phase with 2 of ours so far.  We were powerless to stop it too.

I think we did resort to the pull up pants, as then the nappy couldn't easily be taken off, but my girls by passed that  and would just dig for the poo and then spread it everywhere!  Including Les' face one day while he was having a nap on the couch!  Naughty me, for spending time on Minti and enjoying the quiet for once! lol.

It is a phase, all be it a very frustrating one, and they do grow out of it.  This behaviour is actually normal and part of a child's self exploration.
