Hormones. Ask your Obg's advice.  It does pass...

Re: Night Sweats??

Dannii,

It sounds to me like your body is kicking into high gear to get that baby out.  Not being able to control your own body temperature is normal and can be an indication of labour being on the way.

I must warn you though, it gets worse when you are in labour and you will be constantly wanting to have the temperature in the room changed.  Make sure you have comfy clothes for labour that are loose fitting and not too warm.  For those times when you feel as though you are in an icebox, make sure you have a warm, but loose fitting jumper and some good socks.

The other thing you could be experiencing is having your room too warm.  The ideal temp for sleeping is about 21 degrees C.  Being winter, you probably have many blankets on the bed in an effort to keep warm as well as the heater cranked up.  Turn the heater down to medium and make sure you can just peel the blankets off when you get hot.

Re: Night Sweats??

Oh yeah, and it will last probably until about 2-3 months after giving birth.  It all thanks to the heat from the baby (yes he is making it hot inside for you, your hormones and all that extra fluid).  You will be sweating alot from now on and even more so after birth as this is one of the ways your body gets rid of all that extra fluid that has built up during pregnancy.

Re: Night Sweats??

hey Danni

i had night sweats from around 36 weeks pregnant, nearly every night i would wake up in a sweat. I asked my dr at my 37 week visit and he said it was normal....BUT if u are worried ring the midwives at the hospital, thats what they are there for and u dont need to be worrying about anything at this stage.....
