Depressed?

I suffered from PND after i had my baby almost a year ago and i feel it rearing its ugly head again. My question is has anyone had PND and a reoccurance. Everything is going so well in my life, theres nothing really to get me down, all areas are great, thats why i was wondering, also because it is coming up to the one year ago mark could that have anything to do with it coming back?

Hope this isnt confusing.

Re: Depressed?

As well as reoccurance, you can experience a seasonal swing usually around autumn and spring, gets me at least once a year, I go way downhill.

Take care.

Re: Depressed?

PND can happen from birth to age 5. I got it from birth with my son and ata ge 1.5 with my daughter.

it can come back and there is no known reason either.

if you feel you can not cope please get help.

there are many mum and dads on here that have had PND and they are more than willing to help you get through this.

MM me if you want to chat.

Re: Depressed?

Post Natal Depression can recur.  I suffered from it for about 3 years straight, and have only really shaken it in the last 10 months or so.

You had your baby a year ago, so you could be feeling that time has gotten away and be 'grieving' for your baby who is going to be quite independent these days.

It is always a good idea to speak with your doctor about this so they know what is going on and have a record of it.  They might also be able to help you find a support group too.

Re: Depressed?

Hi there, I added some links to your question, it will take you to advice that has been written on the site relating to PND & Depression.  Also, here is a link to a site called MoodGYM, it is a self help online training program that can help you to understand your feelings and cope better.  I believe the other advice postings have links to other places online and helplines that you can call also (depends what country you are in though).  Best wishes, and it is tough work being a mum, we all understand how it can feel. xox
