Re: Cows Milk

This something to try, our daughter was raised on it and is very healthy, it is basically a formula made from 'whole' foods so very nutritious, non-allergy causing.

It is a bit of a of mindset change but is well worth it...... JT

Re: Cows Milk

Jedd has TONS of GI issues and we jumped in with BOTH feet at about 18 months old. And that was with a child who was on a specialty formula form the time he was about 4 weeks old....he did fine.

Re: Cows Milk

With 3 of our brood, we took the slow approach of introducing cow's milk.  That was by mixing it with formula and then gradually cutting the amount of formula down and increasing the cows milk.

With #4, once she even started to tastes cow's milk at about 11 months, that was it!  She would refuse formula, no matter how small the amount in her bottle.

Different children have different tastes.  If she likes cows milk then let her have it.

Re: Cows Milk

Once my children where 12months, i gradually introduced cows milk. first just replace 1 bottle a day to cows milk for a week, then 2 bottles a day for another week and so on until eventually they are only on cows milk.

Re: Cows Milk

I did. in the following manner. it was no problem.  But... you need to know your childs digestive system.  Try doing half & half. Breast and cow.  try 1 week. Then do one third and 2 thirds, breast and cow. wean your abay off breast milk that way. try another week. then go straight cow milk...

Re: Cows Milk

I wrote a similar Q about a month or so ago LOL click here to have a look.    There is also a similar Q written today see here

Sometimes I give a small amount in H's sippy cup and he drinks it alright.

You can mix milk and formula to introduce him that way. Make up a small amount of formula and then add the milk,  Or I suppose as I have done just put a bit in the sippy cup and see how he goes.

Good luck with it all.
