help!!!

ok, the only reason i havnt called the hospital is because they always seem to think ive wet myself and say its too early to be in labour rah rah rah, yet im 38weeks.

I just went to the toilet and yet again seen that my underwear was wet, not alot but it was wet, no sign of discharge tho. Sounds horrible but i was told to smell it on a previous question i asked and i did this time but it doesnt smell like anything. Im not getting any pains at the moment just my groin area hurts and it has since i woke up also my heart seems to be racing outside of my chest..i feel abit dizzy too...

I want to call the hospital but they never say to come in so i dont know what the hell to do :(     Should i just wait to see if i lose anymore fluid?

Dannii xxo

Re: help!!!

Best clock off for the day I reckon.

Get ready for that little one and get your butt to the hospital. After all, it's your body and you know more about it than anyone else.

Better to be sure to be sure.

Wishing you and your family all the best in the days/weeks ahead.

Re: help!!!

if you're hearts racing and you're feeling dizzy, your blood pressure could be increasing, if you notice you're body s swelling aswell, get to the hospital quick ad you could have pre eclampsia. it's alwasy better to be safe than sorry with medical problems.

Re: help!!!

With my second baby I was 38 weeks and I wasn't sure if my waters had broke or not as I had woken up all wet, though at the time I had a futon mattress and we weren't sure what had cause all the moisture. Anyway the next day my cousin took me to the doctor as nothing else had happened to suggest labour and I didn't know that it can cause infection if I had broke my waters, my cousin told me. The doctor at the hospital did an internal and just decided to take this little hook and break my waters anyway. It could have been leaking but really hard to tell if they are broken or not apparently. When no contractions were happening they hooked me to a drip and my son was born in like 2 hours. It was really fast. My other 2 labours did not need help and were much different so I have my suspicions that my waters did not break but they take you seriously when you go in. On the phone before my cousin took me in they do just fob you off. Hope he comes soon!

Re: help!!!

Just as everyone else has said, go to the hospital and let them check you out physically...that is if you're not already there by now having your bub.  I think everyone on minti is keeping an eye on you and can't wait to see you on here announcing the arrival of little Ashton...

Re: help!!!

Dannii, everyone here has advised you well....go to your hospital & least get checked over....you were saying last night that you felt like you wanted to go to the toilet often, that's usually a good sign, that things are near.

Better to be safe than sorry....once they have checked you i'm sure they will be able to let you know, just what is going on.

Re: help!!!

I know here in the US if you show up at the hospital they send you to a pre-room that you may "hsare" with another mum. In that room they hook you to a  monitor to see if you are n labour and they check you to see if you are dialted. From there they decide whether or not to keep you.

I'd go in, what's the worst they can do...SEND YOU HOME!!!! LOL

Good luck

Re: help!!!

Hey Dannii. Like everyone else said - go in, don't ring, and then they have to check you out. I didn't have a show (that I saw anyway) and just felt like I had to pee all the time & was at the loo every 10 mins or so & it was my waters but I didn't realise & stayed home for 24 hours until mum told me to ring the hospital. With your heart racing & feeling dizzy you really should get checked out. Good luck!

Re: help!!!

I am pretty sure I have already said this to you but you need to wear a pad and go in when it's wet. They will want you to give it to them to test. They can tell if it is amniotic fluid. They might also do an internal to see if you have ruptured yet. Best thing you can do it wear a pad all the time and then it's not your undies catching the fluid which is useless in telling.

Re: help!!!

The reason why  they aren't listening to you is because this is your first baby.  Dannnii, go in and see them.  they can't turn you away if you show up.  If they still don't listen, then start making a fuss, raise your voice a little and make them listen.

With my last, I was leaking fluid over about 5 days, but because it only happened when I went to the toilet, I didn't notice, and I was told that I should have come in to be checked to make sure everything was ok.

The more babies you have, the more the medical teams listen to you, which is wrong.  Pregnancy and childbirth are natural things and while we don't always have the answers with our first, we still know when we are worried, which can affect the baby.

Go in and make a fuss if you have to.

Re: help!!!

Dont ring the hospital ..GO IN and MAKE them LISTEN!!...I didnt ring i just went in, atleast then they can check you over and give you abit of reassurance either way... dont feel silly if its nothing, i felt like i should know this and that and theyd think i was dumb for not knowing.. but its was my first just like Ashton is your first.

Thinking of you... Steff and Char xxx
