Re: is it my plug?

I'd say it's just your body getting ready to labour! I never noticed a plug per se...my waters broke and that was it! Once your labour starts you will notice a regularity to it and there wont be any relief by moving around, the labour pains  will continue regardless. moving around may relieve the pains, but not stop them! I would say that the day you meet your new bub is not too far away!

Re: is it my plug?

I'm (supposedly) 34 weeks and already started to lose my plug.  Mine has been coming away in little stringy bits that are slightly blood stained.  The plug is actually quite large, so could start with a clear discharge before getting to that gross alien snot like thing! lol.

It can also take a little while for you plug to come away.  For some, it can happen over a period of weeks, others might not lose it until they are about to give birth.

I would say what you are experiencing is a discharge that is actually preparing, cleaning and lubricating you ready for the big push.  This is also very common, and can be more noticeable towards the end of your pregnancy.

It shouldn't be coloured yellow or brown, this could mean an infection so please go to the hospital.

Re: is it my plug?

I would say its just discharge, which does increase towards the end. The mucus plug is more stringy, like others have said you can lose it in one go or it can come away in bits. Im over 38weeks now and have been losing my plug for about 2weeks.

Definetly sound slike braxton hicks that your having, they last longer and are too hard to time becuase they never really stop.

Ive been having what you describe for 3weeks now, only the last couple of days are my contractions closer together and getting stronger.

Re: is it my plug?

yes this defantly sounds like ur plug, it either comes out in dribs and drabs or in one big lot, some women dont even see it as it just falls out in the loo!! The contractions sound like the start of ur labour or ur just getting ready, u might be just about ready to have ur baby!! how exciting, keep timing ur contractions and keep active to get it all moving along....good luck with it all ok!!!!

na xxxxxxx

Re: is it my plug?

it's braxton hicks, real labours pains get more intense as time goes on and shorter and walking won't releive them. the clear stuff could just be normal body discharge, if it's really stringy and jelly like, and not quite like your normal discharge, then it's probably your plug, the plug can't also have some blood in it making it look browish and this is called the bloody show, different name for the plug.
