Re: Medication Q

Thank you guys. I ended up finding a 24 hour chemist and spoke to the pharmist there. she said that the panagelic could of made me dizzy and almost pass out and that i shouldnt of taken it with the valpro as the react with each other. i thought it would be ok cause its panadol and codine and i was having that at the hospital. oh well. live and learn. I wont ask for any pain killers off dad again.

Re: Medication Q

From what I have read it is unlikely that panalgesic had an effect.

However, did you have anything to drink at the wedding? Alcohol and Valpro just dont mix.

It is important though when taking medications to always seek advice from Dr or chemist. Never take someone elses pills even just panadol it may not be suitable for you.

Cheers, Miriam

You can call the poisons info line on 13 11 26.  They are a 24 hours service and will have some info for you about this, or will be able to quickly come up with it if they don't have it on hand.  I'll also give the link below your question for the info centre numbers for many of the Perth based and national services for you and other parents too.

by the way, for any parent, it is highly important that you have the Poisons Info Line number where you can see it, preferably with your other emergency contacts.  I say this to all parents because they don't just deal with medications, but also household chemicals, other domestic and commercial chemicals, animal toxins and plant toxins.
