Re: this is embarrasing
Hey Danni, The last few weeks are the hardst as bub gets organised to make their grand entrance! I was a week overdue ( and as I had to travel 500 k's to deliver I was REALLY keen to get going!) I had shocking pains as bub's head was sitting so low. I had to be catheterised twice as my bladder wouldn't work as bub was sitting where she shouldn't!!!! I tried walking, bumpy drives, hot curries, sex, disgusting tasting concoctions, etc.. etc... but bub decided to arrive the night we decided to go out for dinner! My mother has never forgiven me as I said she couldn't stay with us ( she stayed at a hotel for 7 days- hubby deciided to go to a rodeo and dislocated his knee the night I headed off to wait for bubs under doc';s orders- so as I was really ticked off being the size of a beached whale and haing to wait on him hand and foot, I really didn't really need any more stress!) and MIL came through town and ended up staying the night with us as my waters broke as we were all set to go out for dinner!Timing...who can pick it!!! If you are having lots of pain....ask if you can have a scan to make sure bub's is facing the right way. In fact if you can insist on it ...do it! I had terrible problems for the last few weeks and it worked out that she was facing the wrong way. Long story and you only need good stories at the moment!!! All I can say that once you do go into labour.....you will know the diffference!!!! ( You could even be like my girlfriend who started labour and delivered within 3 hours last week!!!! ) She rang me and said she was having pains every 8 minutes, did she need to go to hospital?? As she had an hours drive...I said GOOOOOOOOO...She had bub an hour after getting to hospital! You will know by 2 things....Your waters break ( you will know when this happens! It is more than a bit of discharge!) or your pains become regular and more intense over time! Braxton Hicks are practice and are irregular and eased by movement! Good luck! The day is very close when you will get to meet your bub! Keep in mind that with your birth plan, everything is flexible. go with the flow! I can't ( very unfortunately) have drugs stronger than gas as I have an adverse reaction...... but if you are labouring for an extended time......don't be afraid to have an epidural as it can make a big difference to your recovery and bubs .The main thing is is to listen to your body, try all the alternatives, but remember that help is allowed!
Good luck my dear! It is a strange experience painful, yet the best thing thing that you can ever experience! Go figure!

Re: this is embarrasing
Hi Dannii,
I had chronic pain with 3 of mine, and it started quite early on for me, about 5 months, this time round, I've got the pain now, but it has only started in the last few weeks, so not so sore.
The further down he moves, the more pressure there is going to be on your pelvic region. this can hurt and feel as though your legs are going to pop off one day.
I bet you are having trouble going to the toilet now too. Yep, I'm there as well, again, it is because of where bubs is sitting.
what you are feeling is normal, just strange, especially being your first (I was lucky with my first, and didn't have any of the normal complaints in late pregnancy) and you still being so young. Because of your age, your body hasn't fully stopped growing itself yet, so you are getting growing pains and pregnancy pains combined, which has got to suck!
Use your gym ball, but as you have already found, the more you do, the lower he gets, so go easy with it. No bouncing races! lol.
I would say his head is engaging, which will put even more pressure on your body. Once he is comfortable and happy with his position, then it is more than likely going to be time for him to come out.
