The best way to teach speaking is to spend time with your little one talking. This can be time that you spend just with them reading books, describing what they are doing, pointing things out in their environment and being at their level face to face. Nursery rhymes and singing are excellent to include with this too. I was very unsure cos I am tone deaf, but fortunately the kids aren't critics!! Now my little lad requests songs and we make up words and silly rhymes to fit the tunes.

Other times when you have jobs to do you can talk to them about what you are doing or what you are planning to do. As long as you leave pauses and wait for any response - a sound, look, movement - and interpret it it goes a long way. You can imagine having a two way conversation with them, they will learn about turn taking that way.

Wow sorry long comment. Hope some of it helps

Re: how can i teach speaking

we teach our kids how to speak by alowing them to listen and pic up on what we say so when around your children pronounce words correctly and always use your gramma around them and they will usually get it on there own, but if they are developing slowly try repeating words to them daily, say tomorrows word is hungry... use that word as much as possible and repeat it to the kids and have a different word for each day. i taught my tot to say dont touch by doing that.

I don't know if there is an exact way, but I can tell you waht seemed to work for my daughter..She is 16 months old and talks and talks and talks..Since she was very little, I have talked to her constantly..all day long lol..I narrate what we do, ask her questions etc...It seems to have worked because she is always talking..She tries to say new, unfamiliar words..I think just encouraging your child and answering when they do speak helps as well

Good luck!

Just encourage it. Talk to your child. If you think your child has the ability to say words but just isn't using them, try asking them to speak properly when they ask for things. And pretend to not hear them when they resort to grunts or baby-talk. Make a big happy fuss when they do it!
