Blighted ovum

I have been recently told by my doctor that they suspect i may have a blighted ovum. This terifys me as I can't get it out of my head and think positively especially when none of my more "in tune" friends have made any comment other than positve ones on my pregnancy. Even when I told them I had fears and ask quite plainly!

Is there anyone out there who has had the possibility of a blighted ovum that has turned out ok? Just needed to wait an extra week or so for confirmation and it's all been fine?

is it possible??

ok might sound really silly as his only 7weeks old but i think ashton is teething!! He is really irritable, screaming for no reason with his fists in his mouth and drooling everywhere. His cheeks look flushed, his had a little bt of a temp, its normally 36.5 tonight it was 37 but im not sure if it was just from crying but i gave him some panadol anyway. He isnt sleeping properly either. Ive feelt his gums and the top on the left and the botttom looks really white and it feels rough and pointy there.

So is it possible at 7weeks???

I see a paediatrition on Monday so ill be asking then but just wantd to know if this sort of thing is possible so young.

daddy and baby

What is a normal daddy / baby relationship? My fiance is amazing with the baby! He plays with him and entertains him, but when it comes down to changing dirty diapers, waking up for late night feedings or any kind of responsibilities other than playing around, he's hardly ever there. I'm getting very tired doing all of this on my own. He thinks because he spends 50 to 60 hours a week at his job, putting food on the table, that it is okay if i handle the baby all of the time. I just dont want my son to have daddy wasn't there issues. What can i do to bring them closer?

Not sleeping through the nigh anymore

My baby was sleeping through the night when he was seven months old. Now that he's cutting teeth and we've moved to a new house, he has stopped sleeping through the night (which is understandable) I've tried letting him cry it out, but it was very hard on all of us that live in the house, plus he just wont stop until someone goes in to check on him. It didn't feel right to let him cry it out, so i stopped after about a a week and a half of trying it. What else can i do?

more food questions from bad cook.

well i last asked the questions of what to cook up for my 9 month old and i got a GREAT reply, so thank you all. Now i was wondering about canned fruit. I couldnt stand looking at the fresh fruit prices at the shops today so i had a looked at the canned. I went for the top quailty and tried peaches in juice for my nine month old. SHe loved it but im worried about it being canned and not fresh. I havnt seen any of the mags saying not to, either have i seen them saying "give it a go"

SO just asking minti users what they think of canned fruit and if they give it to there children. Keep in mind she always has fresh atleast once a day.

loud yelling

my son, likes to yell very loud, he's not angry or throwing tantrums when he does it - he just like to do it maybe to make himself heard?? at first i thought it was because he couldn't hear properly - but he has just had grommets put in and i thought he would realise how loud he was,,, but if anything he is louder.. cause he his not speaking yet its hard to now why? he understands shhh when u put your finger to your lips but he doesn't comprehend and still does it. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and how do i get him to lower his voice or will he just grow out of it as his speech picks up??

thanks lisa

Cant sit on toilet to poo, must stand to poo...

Hmm...we are in the midst of toilet-training our 3-year-old.  He is fine to go pee in the toilet.  But he just cant do the poo sitting.  He does it standing and bending his knees a little, hiding away in his room.  Every time i catch him and place him on the toilet, he will tell me 'no more'.  Did he forget about his poo or what? It can repeat a few times.  Then when I forgot to watch him while doing chores, there he goes, the poo is in his diapers!  Until now, we havent got one successful poo on the toilet because he just cant do it sitting.

Any good advice? Please....

Also i had an idea to so a plasta mould of my Williams hands but being in a remote town the price made me almost fall over (i hate to sound like a stinge)! just wondering if anyone knew how to make the plasta or something else that i could do the mould out of.

Thanks in advance

Ovulation tests????

Hi, just wondering about ovulation tests.

I have irregular periods, and just finished a course of provera, then clomid, to help me fall preggers. I dont know when i should expect to ovulate????  shold i assume a 28 day cycle??

If so then i should ovulate today or tomorrow. I have been doing ovulation tests for the past 5 days, and nothing yet though i have VERY extreme faint lines, so there fore ive been told to ignore them.

I take my test at 2pm everyday, should i expect a fade in or will it just bam be there one day (a positive ovulating line) and is it possible to start ovulating after a neg test then the nest day its neg again cause the ovulation hormone bits are all gone again???

Sorry if im not making sense, but hope you can help

I thought I'd love being pregnant????

Hi There I'm brand new to Minti. I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first baby, due date November 11. I live in Melbourne, Australia and I'm a full-time primary school teacher. I've joined Minit because I desperately need to sulk! I've wanted to be pregnant for so long and always imagined it would be a lovely, special time where i'd feel fantastic and would remain pretty fit and healthy. But, It's been horrible!! I was sick with all day sickness until about 20wks, had to cancel a very exciting overseas holidays because of  low lying placenta and now I have extremely horrible pelvic pain that's stopping me from exercising and making my job a nightmare. I've taken a day off today to see a Physio after the pain brought me to tears at work yesterday.

I feel like I'm getting depressed now, I wake at night and feel so anxious, not about labour or coping with my first baby, but about coping with day-to-day life when i'm pregnant. I've had depression and anxiety on and off for years and had to go off medication when i got pregnant. Usually I'd try to manage it with exercise, but that's not possible because of the pain, I'm worried I may be somehow harming my baby by feeling like this - is that possible?

I've thought about asking my doctor if I can get medical leave from work (I have two weeks left before I finish up) because I'm really struggling, but I worry then I've been too soft. I also worry that If i leave my teaching job like this I may never want to return, because I'm really hating it. I usually enjoy my job (most days!) and do want to go back to it one day...

Am I being ridiculous? I mean everyone is uncomfortable in the third trimester right? Am I just being a massive winger?

I'd love to hear from any of you about how you're coping, how far along you plan to work for. Is there anyone out there who left work early because they just mentally weren't coping?

Thanks

Is it normal not to feel hungry while pregnant

I don't feel hungry at all and have to force more than a few mouthfuls down.

I'm only ten weeks and I thought pregnancy meant eating for two.  This didn't happen in my other pregnancies but I lost both my children at around the five month point, so I don't have a 'normal' experience to fall back on.

Everything leaves me bloated and feeling ill.

I'm doing my best for the sake of the baby but I'm worried and I don't know if this is something that happens to a lot of people.

sleepy time habit

hi all

my daughter is 2 and a half, and just recently i stopped giving her milk at naps and bedtime, for her teeth's sake. and because she was drinking so much milk. sometimes 4 cups a day. anwayway, since i quit giving it to her and sleepy time, i will give it to her in the day time and still let her take a sippy of water to bed with her. for the first couple of days she transitioned well. she has always adapted to new things so easy: quitting the binky, a toddler bed, getting a baby brother, but this milk thing... for the last week she cries for it and i dont give in, but she cries and fights sleeping for so long, and it has resulted in me having to rock her to sleep or tickle her armsback till she goes to sleep. i just need some tips on how to make this transition easier on both of us. thanks for listening.

5 year old perfectionist tantrums

My 5 year old daughter will throw a trantrum at the drop of a hat if the slightest thing goes wrong.  She is such a perfectionist.  She will whinge and scream and cry over the slightest thing.  I have tried everything from staying calm, ignoring the behaviour, taking away her favourite toys, naughty spot...but it seems every morning just ends in a screaming match.  It is really hard to start the day like this.  Does anyone have any tips on how to manage my behaviour and hers?? Please don't say reward chart...........
