My little girl is up at the crack of dawn or even before sometimes..lol..she has breakfast about 1/2 hour after she wakes up. so about 6:30a or 7:00a

Re: What time is breakfast?

gosh....consider yourself lucky! mine gets up at 5.30am like clockwork

he still has his milk first about 220ml and then breakkfast at about 6am

porridge, weetbix or toast........my son is nearly 17months now-it was around the 13th month that he started showing a real interest in breakfast

Re: What time is breakfast?

My kids have brekkie between 7 - 7,30 and chloe is like your master H.. so what we have done in the past is make her a milk shake and cut up some fruit and she has being happy to have that....

also smoothies are a hit as well...

Re: What time is breakfast?

i used to give them weetbix  as a rule weekdays and wekends and public holidays they were allowed to have cornflakes or whatever they fancied.

maybe he is finding it a little bland / boring. try  adding slices of bananas wih his cereal. but have the cereal as the banana will fill him up.

or sliced peaches or pears or fuit salad . the idea is to try and make breakfast fun and exciting.

you could also eat your breakfast alongside him and as your eating you could go on how yummy it is . toddlers and children have a tendency to mimic us

if its convenient have a friend and her child "drop in" once a week and share breakfast together. that way if he sees its a fun thing to do he will then get into the habit of eating on the other days as well.

put smaller portions or if its a large portion dont worry if he only eats some of it.

time really doesnt matter but ideally between 7 and 9 are best. otherwise it becaomes too close to lunch

cheers annie

Re: What time is breakfast?

Good ideas Annie,  H hates banana, but yes I do give him fruit.  This morning I gave him weetbix with fruit and no milk just the juice from the fruit and some warm water.  He ate it all.  Either he was hungry or he hates the milk!

I like the play date for brekky idea.

Re: What time is breakfast?

Our girls have their morning drink between 7am and 7:30am and then have breakfast between 7:30am and 8am.

Ours mostly eat their breakfast, though sometimes, they leave more than they have eaten.  I guess we have been lucky and avoided most of the picky eater habits, but please don't ask me how, I really don't know myself! lol.

You could try different cereals to see what he might like.

Thanks

We give the different cereals ago.  He loves toast tho so maybe another slice is in order.  I also think he is teething.

Re: What time is breakfast?

My 12 month old  twins wake up at about 7:30. They breastfeed, and then they have breakfast (fruit or cereal) at about 9am. My 3 year old wakes up at 6am and has chocolate milk. I make him waffles and some fruit, but he nibbles on it for an hour or so. He doesn't just sit down and eat, unfortunately.

Re: What time is breakfast?

We have tried what your twins are doing....  Milk at 7am and brekky at 8.30 dosen't seem to really work for us.  Glad it does for you.   I'm just getting ideas.
