Outside time

Just wondering how many hours a day your toddler spends outside? My little one is slathered up in sunscreen and we spend much of the day outdoors together, weather permitting..Is there any thing as too much time outside?

Re: Outside time

If our house wasn't one on stilts, my family would practically live outside.  Obviously, you have to be very careful about the sun etc.  It is recommended in Australia to not be out in the sun between 10am and 3pm.  These are the hours when the sun does the most damage.

Stick to the shade as much as possible and you will be fine.

Re: Outside time

it is so good for little ones to be outside in the fresh air as you said apply sunscreen also waer a hat if the little one will, you wear a hat too. the anti cancer cancel says stay indoors or in the shade between the hours of 10am and 3pm as that is the hottest part of the day remember to drink plenty of water. you could play water games suck as a tub of water with jugs spoons cups ECT...

hope i've helped?

Re: Outside time

Toddlers and outdoors are a define match. As long as you use sunscreen, and your child isn't overheating, there is no limit to outdoors time (if you don't mind it). Offer plenty of fluids and if it's hot, offer plenty of breaks to just cool off. If you mix in water, as in sprinkler, pool etc... even better on a hot day!

Re: Outside time

As long  as your little one is happy NO I don't think there is a way to be too much outside...LOL Health and weather permitting. It's good for their little bodies.
