Re: Vacation

I think the youngest any of mine were was about 6 weeks. We used to go camping a lot and just took the kids. They are used to it now. That also occassionally included long trips as well.

Re: Vacation

My husband and I, along with our 18 month old at the time, went to Disney World for a wedding. While there, we went ahead and stayed several days, as our first ever family vacation. It was great. The only awful part was the 2 hour plane ride to get there. My 18 month old (highly active) and planes just didn't mix...thankfully it was only 2 hour travel.

I think it depends onw what kind of family vacation you want to do and how you'll get there. Long plane rides wouldn't be advisable at this age. But if you're driving, it wouldn't be too much of a trouble as long as you stop and let your child burn some energy. And as long as you go to a family/kid friendly place, there is no problem why a vacation would be a problem. Just remember to NOT plan too many things in a day because you'll have to schedule some nap times in there.

Good luck!

Re: Vacation

Hi! We took our eldest daughter on holiday for the first time when she was 19 months and I was five months pregnant. We took our youngest daughter on holiday to Barbados when she was 4 months old. It was actually easier to take the baby on holiday than the toddler! But we always take my parents with us now as they are great help and can provide some babysitting too... don't know if you would be able to do that with anyone, but it certainly adds to the holiday! Have a great time whatever you do!
