This is gonna sound a little bit wierd but please bare with me. As pretty much everyone knows I've had pretty bad morning sickness the last few weeks. Anyway, I have only been able to eat limited amount of food etc. Over the last week or so I have noticed the shakes starting up. It usually starts up around 3:30-4:00 in the afternoon and then they continue on and off throughout the night. At first I just thought it was because the temp was getting colder. However, the other night we had the heater on... I had a jumper, singlet top, tracksuit pants and thick socks on. I still couldn't get warm. I ended up with a blanket wrapped around me as well.... I finally got warm and the shakes stopped. I mean my whole body can shake/tremble and when they are occuring there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to stop them. Could there be something wrong??? or am I just going insane lol.
Hi, There has been some great advice given. I would certainly look into the Iron issue, the lack of Iron does have an effect on the bodys ability to maintain heat.
I would certainly advise that you talk to your doctor, who may order some blood tests in order to rule out any other causes. In the meantime it would not hurt to pop into your local pharmacy and get some multivitamins for pregnant women.
I think the shakes you are experiencing are because your blood sugar level (BSL) is low. Maybe having a glucose drink will help with this. And yes, if it is too low, you will feel as though you are freezing, even though the room might be an oven. I had it, especially with my first, and it was pretty scary until I understood what was causing it.
With my 4th baby, I was under a lot of stress etc and the only thing that I could do to keep going was to mix baby formula with plain milk and force it down! Yep, you heard it first! I drank baby formula to help me to survive! lol.
i suggest you get tested for gestational diabetes - perhaps diabetes in general. often people who suffer from this get the shakes when their blood sugar level is too low and so they often get very cold and shaky. this is what happens with my pop
if this happens to you again, try having a sugar hit and see if the shakes stop!
Hi sweetie. i agree with angie, though perhaps you need a bit of suger. Im not diabetic, but i know if i havent had suger in ages i get shaky. but it could be many many things. i would recomond seeing your doc, good luck sweetie
sounds like u could be lacking in something, like iron or some other mineral/vitanim or maybe its lack of sleep. not sure. u should go see a doc about it tho just to be safe
