Deep sleep...

I am worried about my son. He goes into a deep deep sleep. He can not be stirred or woken when he is like this. My hubby thinks he in a way goes out on consioness (sp) (like being hit on the head)

I am taking him to the doctors next week.

But I would like to know if anyone knows about this, or have children like this?

thanks

Re: Deep sleep...

I've got a heavy sleeper - nothing wakes that kid up.  His sister?  Different story..

Re: Deep sleep...

Sounds like he's just sleeping sound.  2 of mine were heavey sleepers and 2 were light sleepers.  If it is really bothering you I'd go ahead and get the Doctor to check it out but I don't think you have anything to worry about!!!

Re: Deep sleep...

Some kids are like that.  I used to be.  Nothing would wake me up, not even the car that ended up in our front hedge once and practically exploded all our windows!  Others are light sleepers.

Talk to your gp about it, but I'm not sure there is much they can do about it.

Re: Deep sleep...

My eldest girl, does. Once asleep, WW3 would not waken her, not even a murmor, when we lifted her as a baby, toddler or junior. Even though she is nearly 8yrs, she still wont be woken, without a real effort. Even if she gets up for the loo, she is still asleep. Docs were not concerned, after checking her out. Hope it is the same for your little man too, when you see the Docs.

Re: Deep sleep...

I used to be like this when I was a kid. Nothing would wake me, not even a horn right next to me. As I got older, I wasn't such a deep sleeper. If you're worried, it can't hurt to have it checked.
