Hi everyone.

My little girl has an eye infection..Her doc prescribed  antibiotic eyedrops..We are having the HARDEST time getting them into her eye..She knows they are coming and turns her head..We try and hold her still and get them into her eye, but it is so hard..Has any other mom had to give their little one eyedrops? Any pointers/ tips would be greatly appreciated..

Hold her head so she can't turn away. Get her to look up at the light or something and drop it into the bottom of the eye in the white bit.

I also was told to try to have the child close her eyes.  Put 2 drops in the corner of the eye closest to the nose and when the eye opens, it's equivalent to one drop.  Hope this works.

Not sure how many times a day you have to put drops in.  I had to give my son eye drops when he was already asleep.  That way he didn't turn away.  quick and easy!  Hope it works!

Re: Help!! Eye drop issues!

Lay them on their side and drop the drops ont heoutside courner of th eeye. It will drip with gravity INTO the eye. Then flip over and do the other side. I  think your DD is 16 Months (jsut checked) and you may have to lay her down and hold her with your liegs in order to accomplish it....sorry.

Re: Help!! Eye drop issues!

I asked my kids if their eyes really hurt, they answered yes. I said well this hurts, BUT it will make your eye better. mind you my son was 4 atm and my daughter was 2 (junk eye - conjunctivits) it worked for me. but if your child is smaller they wont understand. all you can do is perserver. its mean by my sis used to put her son on the floor, kneel over his head so it was between her legs and locked in there and put them in. after the third time he let her do it. he get conjunctivits alot form being at day care 4 days a week
