Re: when can my daughter eat strawberries
I read that with berries of all sorts that have little seeds you eat, you should try to postpone your child eating them until 12 or 18 months because of food allergies. If there is a history of food allergies in your family, postponing when your child first tries these things can help prevent them developing the allergies, which are usually to some chemical in the seeds. If you strain the seeds out of the berries, the point is pretty much moot, and if you have no history of food allergies in your family, there's probably no need to wait. Either way, the first time you give your child any one type of berry, watch them closely in case they start to have a reaction. That being said, my 12 month old eats blueberries and bananas mushed up in yogurt. Don't know if he likes them, he eats almost anything I give him.
