Baby book procrastinator

My daughter will be two in September and I am just getting around to filling in her baby book.  As if the guilt wasn't already bad enough, I am now faced with the challenge of finding prices of common household items when she was born.  It's either that or I have to tear a page out of her book, which I dodn't want to do!  So how can I find a list of prices for things like milk, gasoline, bread, eggs, movie tickets, etc. from September of 2006?

My sister had the same problem as you. She just guesstimated. Think back to when she was a little baby and you used to go to the shop. Take a stab at it, better than nothing :)

Ha!  That time was such a blur for me...  But thanks for the suggestion.  ;D

My little emily was born 1st of September  06 but unfortunately I think you don't want to state Australian figures. You can always get a back dated newspaper from a good library which should have all that stuff in it. Good Luck

My son was born Sept. 21,03.  I didn't get all the household items for a while.  :)  but i googled a lot of the items.  If i can think of anything else, I will let you know.  Google.  it's my answer for everything.

Re: Baby book procrastinator

Google is what I was using (that's actually how I ended up on Minti!) - but because there has been so much price fluctuation - thanks to stupid oil prices - I am finding a hard time finding anything as mundane as a price list.  All I can find are articles about the horrible increase in prices....  I probably just need to be more patient and sift hrough the articles.  Thanks!
