It's all too exciting, isn't it?

If you can't help yourself, I would go for one outfits here and there. But with clothes, you'll have to be careful because your baby may be small or big and may or may not fit. And if you buy too big, the seasons may be oppositte of what the clothes is for by the time your baby fits in it. Just something to think about.  But as far as blankets where size wouldn't matter, go ahead and buy when you a sale just don't go crazy.

As far as baby gears like stroller, high chair, car seat, bouncy seats, etc, what my husband and I did with our first is to buy one expensive thing at a time, this way it didn't make as much of a dent in our monthly expenses. :-)  And remember that if you buy now, save your receipts in case you need to return them!

Honestly,

though you are excited and may wnat to buy everything in sight, I wouldn't yet..If you are having a baby shower, you will receive lots and lots of stuff!!

I received TONS of clothes as well as items I signed up for!

You could of course buy necessities such as diapers, wipes, crib, dresser, changing table..

However, if you will be having a baby shower, I'd wait until after to buy the rest..

I'm only saying that so you don't spend unneccessary $ on things you may already get!1

start small like a growsuit or singlets and as you pass the danger stage layby a pram cot and other more costly nessesties and continually buy smaller items on payday this way  by time its time you will have what you need and you wont feel so bad because it wont make a big dint inyour pocket. also buy a range of sizes because you never know your baby could be big or small. start at 5x0- to 3x0s also let others get you gifts lie towels and washers and blankets.

Congrations, this is an exciting time for you and hopefuly it will fly buy.  As everyone has said it dosen't matter what you buy first. 

What I did was go and look at all the baby shops for the pram that I wonted then I searched on Ebay for it.  I got a really good pram for a good price.  You can also try going to some op shops or 2nd hand shops.    My sister got her pram from a 2nd had kids shop.

Car seat I would buy new unless you know someone who has finished with theirs and the seat hasn't been in an accident.

I never got a change table, we had an old table that we use and we just bought a change mat from a baby store. 

When nappies are on sale make sure you stock up.   I find that Aldi nappies are pretty good. We started off on Huggies until we were told about Aldi.

See if you can get a lot of hand me down things like wraps and grow suits.  Although it is nice to have some new stuff, all the mid year sales are on now.   People will also give you lots of suits and wraps as gifts.

starting early is great as the time will go so quickly for you.  Now is the time to layby at Target well next thursday i think the big toy sale starts and i got my pram and heaps of stuff for my baby last year while i was still pregnant and you can layby i think til xmas which is great and you will be further along by then too.  Good luck and congratulations

It isnt too early. As others have said you could start buying growsuits, singlets and blankets. I would get alot of muslin wraps. They are great!! You can also start looking into what pram, cot and car seat you want. There is heaps of stuff! I would look at buying the bigger stuff now thou while all the mid year sales are still on! You can get lots of stuff half price!!

Hi!  It is so hard not to, isn't it!  I did with my first from only a few weeks pregnant. 

Anyway, I would just start with basics - singlets, bodysuits, socks, wraps from sz000-0000 up.  You get given so many things, so start with the basics.  If you buy outfits, only buy a few small ones and then mostly larger ones (you get given lots of little ones but supply slows once they are sz0-1).  I also stocked up on nappies and wipes so that I didn't have to buy any for the first few months.

Once I was further along I got a list from various books and magazines of what to buy - but then realised later that a lot of it was not "necessary".  So, you can decide as you go what style of things you want and what you want to budget (bearing in mind that the temptation to spend on cute things is strong but there are many things you don't need to spend money on).  Hope that helps

you can start when ever you like, you need to look in to prams, car seats, cots and bouncers lol.  make sure u research which one is best. if u wanna start buying stuff you could get things like singlets and bodysuits / growsuits or toys like rattles ect. or you could buy some baby rugs / baby blankets.

have fun shopping and there isnt really a right or wrong time to buy things and long as at the end of the pregnancy u have basically twhat u need
