ive been using the depo ralovera (not provera) since i was 15 now..... i dont get periods at all on it and i had a break from it to go on the pill at 17 and fell preg within one week of coming off it (wouldnt listen when they tell you it takes 18 months to conceive!)

im on it again right now but about to go on the pill for awhile because the main side effect is weight gain and fluid retention.

just to add though, i was on the depo PROVERA for one session and it made me nutty gave me migranes and made me really moody thats why i switched to the ralovera.

I was on this shot for 9 months. It was awful. I had my period for 9 months. But in a way it was good cause it made me go and see a gyno and I found out I had PCOD and Bad Endometrosis.

Look it up via google and find the medical info. It will say in that what is in it.

I was on the Depo shot for about a year and didn't have any problems, but I was more than upset when I found out it can cause infertility which my doctor never informed me of. My sister was also on the shot for a while and had a horrible experience. She was sick all the time and was virtually on her period the whole time - no cycle, just constant bleeding. Also, she decided she wanted to have a baby and discontinued the shot, but because of it she couldn't get pregnant for almost a year. Just something to consider. Good luck!
