Re: Ideal weight??

hi, Jade is 11 half mths and i give her pretty much everything except egg, anything hard and not full of sugar salt n preservitives. Jade has brekky: weetbix n cows milk, maybe banana too, snack: toast in little squares with vegmite, cheese. then lunch: jar of veg (HM) n yogurt some cheese. colby type. snack chopped orange and maybe advo. Dinner: veg , custard. if still hungry banana.  She doesnt drink milk, as i have been in formed that as long as she eats cheese, yogurt n a range of fruit veg its ok. I do give her steamed fish, i give her bits of meat, but she pulls it out of her mouth, lol. I give her beans as finger food too.(from a can) just wash em. I buy mum mum rice biscuits too, to keep her quiet.lol. they are in the baby section. i make pea n ham soup, she loves it!!! and it super easy to make. she enjoys dolmino sauce on her veg. its all natural too. ummmm, this could go on forever, Minti mail me if you need more ideas. xxxxxxx

Re: Ideal weight??

At that age my son wanted to put things in his mouth by himself so any kind of finger food. Little pieces of canned fruit, cereal, etc.

Re: Ideal weight??

I've just checked my baby health records book, and your son is right on the average weight, so no worries there.

As for what to feed him for variation, I have no idea what you feed him now, so can't really help on that one.

Re: Ideal weight??

Hi, it is hard to say what is an ideal weight because height is a big factor, and up until the age of 1 growth is so rapid you would really ned to plot it on a growth chart which your child health nurse should do. It sounds about right tho. A friends 2 year old only weighs just above 12 kg and is quiet fit and healthy.

Any vegetables that can be blended, all though I tink at this age I had introduced him to a chunkier form of food rather than purees, Chicken, meat, tuna, cheese, fruits, pasta, even yoghurt (you can get a special bubs one) It depends on what you feel comfortable with really. Avoid nuts and honey tho as it is not recommended for infants under 3 yrs I think. Obviously if you or your partner have any allergies to foods avoid those until he is alot older.

Hope this helps. A site with some great info is www.kidspot.com.au Has everything from newborn up to school age
