depo

IM so worried. I am a reguler for the depo injection and last time i got it, i had a blood test to make sure i wasnt pregnant. It was 2 months ago and i havent had a period yet. My breast feel swollen and sore and have "dropped" like they did when i was pregnant. I am also getting bad butterflies in my tummy which feels like the first kicks of a baby. Im really worried. I dont want to take a pregnancy test as im to scared incase its positive..... i would have to abort the baby and i would be heart brocken. I suppose im not asking a question, but just wanting some reasurance that the same "side affects" has happened to someone else.

Re: depo

I am currently on the Depo shot, and have had all the symptoms you have said. The depo shot is known to make people "Feel" pregnant - normally around 5 weeks after having the first shot.

I took a test, hoping to god i wasn't pregnant because like you, would have to also terminate - but for health issues. The test came back negative.

I do recommend taking the test though, jus to put your mind at ease!

Good Luck, Cheers

Re: depo

I did have the same side effects while on Depo, I would have sworn and did swear that I was pregnant , and even went as far as having an ultrasound, cause even after the blood test confirmed I wasn't I still FELT pregnant. Sore breast, nausea, belly flutters, and even as far as a bit of lactating. Now I had been on the injection for 6 + years, never had an issue , like clockwork for my injections never late, and all of a sudden this happened, so it scared me. It is VERY common to not have a period while on Depo, many women don't, I didn't.

Currently I am off Depo, it's been a month since my shot wore off , 4 months since my last injection. I can tell you I have the same symptoms comming OFF of Depo, many women do. No I'm not pregnant , yes I've taken tests. As hubby and I have decided to try for another. No suck luck , but I don't expect it soon, It could be about a year or more before I manage to fall pregnant.

Re: depo

I gotta agree with everything you have said.. I was on the depo before for a year(when I was 15) and I had those symptoms.. Same with the period, I was one of them who never got it but when I went on it for a short when I was 17 I always got my period every month!

Re: depo

I think that you really need to do a pregnancy test.  Either way, you need to know what is going on.  If you aren't pregnant, you should discuss your symptoms with a medical professional just to be on the safe side.
