fun and educational games for kids

I dont have any children but I am looking at Nannying I have already organised most of what I need but when I do get an interview with a family I would like to have some daily activities planned to show them that I am interested in the children and not just looking at it as a boring job.

If anyone has any fun, educational games or activities to do with children aged 0-8 please let me kno.

thanks.

For children on the older side of your range, always have dice. Try letting them roll three and see if they can get a one on at least one of them. If yes, can they get a two or two die that have one dot on each (which makes two). Keep going and see if they have a three or if they can make a three. As they get the hang of it, add more dice in until they roll five. Go up to making 12 and then back down again.

Also, try rolling three die. Add up the numbers rolled. Do this again, until you roll ten times. Add the number form each roll and get one big one. If they are under 100, they win!

There are many games to play with this way!

Jumpstart for the pc is wonderful. They are $20 each (they have from preschool to year 7) and are great. My kids love them.

Also you can always ask a teacher and speak to them about working stuff into what they are learning at school.

Hmm, me thinks you would be sensible to invest in http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&q=Great+Big+Book+of+Children's+Games&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title or a similar book. There are thousands of games that have and educational and fun element, I love this book as it has all the games we played as kids, and all the rules, so no arguing over who remembers this rule or that,LOL. Good luck.

Winnie.

Ok for my son's birthday I bought a mini puppet show it is the 3 pigs maybe if u look after older kids they can help u put it together and put on a show. you have to set up the backdrop and the kids can put on the show for there parents if they have time etc. Also go looking in a book store they usually have some activity kits which could be from painting to learning to read to building stuff and heaps more.
