From formula to normal cows milk

Hi everyone,

I have decided to change babys milk from formula to cows milk. She is now 15 months corrected age. She absolutely loves cows milk and has no problems switching. Im now wondering if shes missing out on any nutrients and stuff that she used to get from formula. Will she be okay on cows milk now? She is a bit of a fussy eater (i.e eats very little of everything) and i figured that whatever she is missing in meals she will gain from formula. But now that shes on cows milk will she still gain nutrients and stuff?

So far she is doing absolutely well with cows milk.

Re: From formula to normal cows milk

there is a product you can buy from the supermarkets thats cows milk but designed for children its full of all the right nutrients for them. i cant remember the name but it might be worth a try.

if shes right with normal cows milk then i dont see the problem as long as she is still putting weight on you should be fine if not no harm in asking a dr

Re: From formula to normal cows milk

I was wondering this with my son and one of the suggestions I got from a good friend of mine who is also a grandmother now was, Try giving 1 bottle of formula say before bed and the child should be fine on that. This way she still get the nutrients that she needs but still on cowsmilk most of the time.

Hope this Helps

cheers Queenie xoxoxox

to be suprised, babies from one dont need any form of milk if they have a great variety of food, eg, yogurt cheese, veg n fruit. so dont worry

Re: From formula to normal cows milk

We have gone through lots of feeding isseu with DS. When we were at the rehab center and we were working on his schedule and had plans to switch him to cow's milk (aobut 16months odl) we were told to add in a multivitamin everyday.

For my son's age he take 1/2 a tablet. We bought the generic ones form WalMart. We also were told that the best well rounded vitamin was the Flinstone's Complete Multivitamin. We bought the generic of that type. the back of the bottle says to give 1/2 talet for his age, so that's what we do.

If the child will not chew the vitamin you cna crush it and add it to food withotu too much of a hassle. I have to crush Jedd and then I dissolve it with warm water and put it intothis feeidng tube. So that shoudl tell you how well they crush donw. I get it down to a fine powder.

There are also liquid multivimains out there but they are not as complete as the one I stated.

she will need a varied diet covering all the food groups, if ur worried she isnt getting that you can get toddler formula like this

http://www.nestle.com.au/Products/Toddler/Neslac/Default.htm

it will put ur mind at ease knowing she is getting all the good stuff she needs and she can still drink cows milk.

xoxo
