Provera and unknown pregnancy

I had to take Provera to start a period and then Clomid to get pregnant with DD (she is now 13 months). DH and I have been TTC #2. I have had VERY irregular periods. On day 42 of my last cycle, I took a pregnancy test (negative) and my doctor allowed me to start Provera. That was Tuesday. I hadn’t started a period yet today and just had a suspicious feeling, so I took another pregnancy test – positive!!!

I am freaking out!! I am terrified that I am going to cause a birth defect or miscarriage. I called the doctor. She had me come in to have a blood draw to check my pregnancy hormone level to see how far along I am. But, she said she couldn’t really tell me much until she got the results. Sigh…

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Re: Provera and unknown pregnancy

What is Provera??

Please try not to worry, im assuming you have stopped taking this medication now, and i believe that when you genuinely never mean to do somethjing while preg cause you dont know it your lucky enough to get away with it. Please i wish you all the best and please let me know how you get on. Congratulations, be happy, enjoy it! think positive lovey!

Re: Provera and unknown pregnancy

depo ralovera is a type of contraception by injection every 3 months. a girl i work with was having the injections and ended up pregnant the same way, she actually had no idea she was pregnant til 7 months cos she didn't show and her now 7 year old daughter is perfectly fine.
