lol i think everyone has this problem at some stage, Lennon does not mind medicines though, but when he is being fussy i find smaller amounts at a time while cradling works pretty good, otherwise i put it in his drink.. saves the hassle!!

Can you disguise it somehow?  My son hates medicine and won't take it, so we started putting it in his milk, juice etc....  even offering him a lolly at the same time.  Now the only thing that works is Milo - we mix up a spoon of milo and hot water, then add plenty of milk and then mix the medicine in.  You could also ask if there are different flavours of whatever it is you are giving them, and keeping it in the fridge dulls the flavour a bit.

The best way that I got my daughter to take her medicine or vitamins was to blow on her face after she already had the medicine in her mouth. This causes the babies to swallow. It may sound a little silly but it's what my mother and grandmother told me to do and it worked!

Hope this helped... :)

I use one of those syringe dispensers and with my child lying down, shove it in to one side towards the back (past the tongue) and squirt it down, then push their lips shut until they swallow.. only take a second or two, they pretty much swallow instinctively. They squeal a bit, especially if they are already feeling tender with a temp or something.

I know this sounds cruel, but it is all over in less than a minute and it is better than not knowing how much medicine they are or aren't getting. If they spit some out you risk overdosing if you try again.

Hi there!

I did write a article on this topic a while ago. This is the link to it i hope it may work for you.

www.minti.com/parenting-advice/8130/Giving-medicine-to-kids/   I know holding the nose is a bit harsh but it has always worked for me so maybe give that a go first.

Good luck with it all, the joys of being a parent.

My Dad used to crush up and pills we had to take as kids and mix it in with a little honey on a teaspoon. If it is liquid, you could try putting it in a drink of juice for him. I dont know other than that. Sorry.

what kind of medications is it?  if its liquid then when hes drinking slip into his mouth as the fliud will make it go quicker.  if its tablets then crush them up and give them to him in food (thats if he's on solids)

other then that im sorry i cant think of anything to help.

have you tried mixing it in with something?? My mum use to put it with cordial or jam, something sweet.
