Re: parent centerlink payment

Hi,

You can go on the centrelink website    www.centrelink.gov.au       and you can do an income estimator.

Re: parent centerlink payment

i can give you a bit You manage as you have no choice and you just adjust your lifestyle to cope with the money you get.

It all depends on how many children you have to how much you get assessed for. Also as for the bills you can go into centerstink and ask for a form and you get the money say $40 fortnight for telstra to be taken out, then when the money goes into your account that money is taken out already so you arnt tempted to spend it. After a while you wont miss the extra bits not being in your account and when bills come in they arnt as huge to jump. With the rent you will be entitled to rent assistance if you are in private renting. If you are in Housing Commission, community housing etc then you arent entitled to rent assistance as your rent is already subsidied,

Good luck and i hope this helps you a bit. Also can visit www.centerlink.gov.au and this is helpfull as well

take care

Kate

Re: parent centerlink payment

Hi there

I was only on the single parent pension for about a month after bub was born. But i was getting about $840 a fortnight. It all depends on how many kids you have. If you are renting you can claim rent assistance and you will also have to apply to the child support office for child support from your husband. Child support is about 17% or his wage (i think) if it is only 1 child you have together. It goes up with more kids.

Hope this helps a little. You are best to go into centrelink and having a chat with them thou. They will be able to show you what you need to do.

Cass xx

Re: parent centerlink payment

If you go into centrelink itself, they've got pamphlets there that will help you. If you don't understand something, then ask someone behind the counter, but i'm sure there's someone here that can help you better than i can

Kerri.
