Juice

Can anyone recommend a good juice for my baby girl - 5 months- to try. The doctor suggested she start on some juice to help with a certain toileting issue but I cannot get her to drink anything I have so far tried. He said it was ok to try normal juice as long as its watered down. A lot of juices are quite bitter though.  Can anyone recommend something sweet that she might like???

Re: Juice

My baby daughter had the same problem, and Health Direct (national health helpline in Australia) recommended giving her 10ml of prune juice diluted with 10ml of water.   This small amount given in a bottle once a day really helped "get things moving again".

Re: Juice

How about Gerber or Beechnut? You can even buy the small bottles for one use to see which taste works best for her..I watered Cate's down at this point so it wouldn't be too acidic..Her ped recommended that

Good luck

Re: Juice

Pear juice is the #1 most gentle juice for a childn's GI system so I would try that first. Make sure it' s100% juice though. Alot of the others add in Apple juice and that can be kinda rough on the little GI systmes.

Re: Juice

any kind of juice is good to try, but i'd go for the ones that are 100% juice (some "juices" are only 25% juice and the rest is water and addes sugar), and water then down by at least 3/4. as it happens i could get my son to drink juice OR water til he was 8 and a half months, he now drinks both though not heaps.

Re: Juice

My son drank prune and pear juice at that age without a problem. I think we also tried white grape and he liked that as well.
