400-500 is the amount to take, i actually took a pregnancy supplement when i was pregnant as it contains iron and other goodies whicih you need when pregnant, so i'd suggest looking into that, babies tend to use up a lot of your iron so it's good to get extra in you.
You are taking the right dose....you could instead take a pregnancy supplement if you wanted to take a few extra vitamins, but 500mcg a day is a good dose. The only reason you would need to take more is if you have a deficency and the doctor would let you know that. Good luck!
