Re: period

I had the implanon in for 4 months. The last three I had a constant period. I'm not talking a few days here and there or light bleed, I'm talking full blown bleeding everyday for the 3 months, I won't have it again, but if it is working for you, great, It is normal for it to mess with your cycle, if you are really concerned speak to your gp.

Hope this helped,

Karen. xx.

Re: period

Before and after implanon was fairly irregular for me too.  I liked Implanon though, I get it that it doesn't work for everyone, but it was the best option for me.  Progesterone gives me anxiety so the lower the dose the better, and I didn't have any of the common side affects, I thought it was great.

The best solution now is that hubby got fixed, and so no more progesterone for me, but that is cause we are happy with two kids.  If I still desired another child I would have gone back on Implanon again.  If it worked for you last time, it should work again this time.

Take care, be patient and give it six to 8 weeks to settle down.

Re: period

Hello there

I have had the rod twice. The first time i bleed all over the place. I would have a period then it would settle about 2 day later then they would go again and be back in maybe 4 weeks. I perseved and after 6 months it settled down. Then i was on a normal cycle.

This time i had it inserted when my bub was about 6 weeks old and ihavent had a period yet. Then again I am breastfeeding so I dont know if that has anything to do with it. The last 2 children I BF i had my periods so I am guessing that it is more than likley because of the rod. My rod is in my left arm.. I have never heard of it going in your back

Hope this helps

Luv kate

Re: period

I had the rod in for 2 and a half years before i had it taken out to fall pregnant.  I did have periods but they were so much lighter than ever before plus i only had a small amount of period pain, as soon as i had it taken out they went back to being very heavy and really painful.  Once bub was born i had another one put in and haven't had a period but i am breastfeeding so thats probably why.  I love it though.... i am hopeless at remembering to take the pill.

Re: period

Hi there!  While I had the implanon in I had no periods at all - for 2 years!  In some ways that is good, but there were other side effects I didn't like - it affected my weight gain/loss and affected my libido.  If it works for you I guess it is good, but I wouldn't use it again.

Re: period

This was part of my experience too.  It is that progesterone doesn't agree with me.  But the pill did the same thing.  So I am best not being on anything, rather than anything containing progesterone.
