Re: Diet

You mean other than giving birth itself?  Um, breastfeeding does help, as does having 5 kids to run around after and plenty of washing to do.  I don't get out of the house much, but I still seem to lose a lot of weight just by going about my daily routine.

Re: Diet

Just a thought,

Most things that end in ING, is a way of burning the calories.

Running, talking, walking, cleaning, that kind of thing..

And yes even sleeping.. :)   I am told that if you don't eat anything after 7pm until you wake up the next morning that is good for you.. :) Don't take my word for it though I am a late night snacker...   :) Thankfully it is mostly fruit.. Or Vegemite on toast... LOL

Re: Diet

I lost most of the weight just after bub was born and breastfeeding has kept me at this weight - 6kg off my pre pregnancy weight.

Re: Diet

I hardly lost any and stayed chubbyish until after I started training and playing rugby again... Moving helps you lose weight.  Even if you are tired and you don't feel like it, put that baby in a stroller and get out there and walk for a few hours every week.  The fresh air will do wonders for your sense of wellbeing too ; )

Re: Diet

I lost my weight by breast feeding...  But I lost so much so fast that people thought I was sick....  I probably could have kept it off if I watched what I ate, and exercise more.   It started to come back very quickly when I finished..
But on the bright side, I have managed to keep a fair bit of it off but I really think that is due to the fact that my son keeps me active....

Re: Diet

I found that breastfeeding made me drop loads.  I didn't have a lot to lose initially but any extra just fell off with the breastfeeding, and that was the same for all my kids.

Re: Diet

Most of my weight came off within 3 months because I was breastfeeding. The weight left over was just due to me over eating.

Re: Diet

Hi Mareewilson

I do think this is a parenting question becuase when we lose weight we feel better about our selfs and when we feel good we are better parents. A happy mum means a happy bub.

Its not easy to get motivated to do exercise when you have a baby, lack of sleep being the m,ain cause of this.

I would recommend eating lots of fruits and veg, salads and drink plenty of water and cut down of sweet drinks like soda.

Also by simply going for a walk with bubs in the pram once or twice a day can help you to lose weight.

hope this helps

xoxo

Re: Diet

Honestly? Breastfeeding- I was back to my pre pregnancy size within 2 weeks. Having said that, I wasn't back to my pre pregnancy level of fitness or muscle tone so when I had recovered enough joined Curves for resistance training and resumed daily walks.

Other people I know have tried weight watchers and found the programme to be excellent and very sustainable.
