We have found that our babies have problems sleeping if the house if too quiet.  We try and have a radio on all the time to provide a constant background noise or at night, we turn the tv down in stages so that they get used to it being quieter.  You could try that.

This is not really an answer to how to get your baby to sleep through the night, but...

My son was the same way. He didn't sleep throught the night until about 18 months, and it really wasn't 'through' the night at that. He woke up 2 times a night and cries and we do our thing and then he goes back to sleep. He is now 3 years old and just recently trully started sleeping through.

In my son's case, it is his temperament. As a baby he was highly alert and refuses to sleep. He slept 30 minutes at a time and only when I was holding him. And when we went out, he just never slept because he found everything too interesting. There was/is nothing wrong with him, he's just not one of those 'easy' babies.

Hi there, isn't it aweful when they wont sleep? Have you tried putting something in her cot that smells like you? When my son was sick i did this - i would take the shirt off that i was wearing and put it under his head to use as a pillow, this helped me straight away. It took him a few night before he slept thru again, but he didnt cry at all.

Have you also tried putting a heater in her room to try to keep the temp even all night?  One more thing i do, is lay down with my son while he has his bottle, and just as he is dosing off that is when i put him in his cot, if he sits up, i lay him back down and keep my hand on his back until he settles again.

If all else fails you could try a sleep centre. If you are in Australia, call the Tresillian Sleep Centre (they are also on MSN if you have it). They are great and if need be you can actually take your baby to a centre and have her monitored. I dont know exactly how it works, but i have heard fantastic things about it.

Hope this helps. Cass xxx

Oh poor you, and poor Bubs, seems like you have checked all the boxes, and all is fine. I think if I were you, I would be asking for her to be checked out by a Pediatrician, just in case she has sinus, eye, or neck issues which can all cause sleep problems, but are not necessarily apperent, without an expert look. Best wishes and hope that she will settle soon for you.
