Cleaning Q.

ok I have a huge Q here.

I made some ginger beer (home brew) and it all exploded the other night. I got all the bottles up and the liquid and that (thank goodness my hubby said to put the bottle all in a box or it would of been all over the house) I have just gone and washed the floor with disinfectant and floor wash (melaluca one) and it still has a very bad beer smell in the hosue. (its really gross)

How can I get rid of the smell. I have my house open, every window and door is open. I have candles on that are smelly. what else can I do? I am scared it has seeped into the grout as my whole house is tiled.

help..........

Re: Cleaning Q.

I used Bi Carb to get rid of a stain and smell of beer off the carpet so I think it works

Good luck

Re: Cleaning Q.

bi carb soda eats smells and it can be vaccuumed up.  Not sure if this would help, but maybe you could sprinkle it on the floor and leave it over night??

I just know that you can put it in the fridge on a plate to get rid of smells, soak laundry in it to get rid of that mouldy smell, so there could be some way of using it.  It is also really cheap.

Oh is Bicarb bad for pets, mainly cats? my cat would be dopy enought to eat it thats all.

Re: Cleaning Q.

I don't imagine so, it is not toxic for humans, although would probably make you gassy, you would probably have to look it up, or look for the warnings on the pack.

I read that link, sounds like don't let your cat eat much, but if they have a little it won't hurt.   Other links seem to use it in cat toothpaste (good luck with that) but I think it would be safe in small amounts.

Good luck.
