Can Eczema Be Thrush?

A few weeks ago my wife took our son to the doctor, she was told he has eczema. His rash has spread down to his lower area, just over night - looks like nappie rash. It aint bothering him, my wife seems to be very worried. Could the doctor be wrong and its thrush? Whats the best cream to clear this up?

Thanks

Re: Can Eczema Be Thrush?

It is more likely to be eczema espelially if it feels warm or hot to touch compared to the rest of the body. The best way to treat it is to keep it cool and moist. Taking the heat out of eczema is the fastest way to provide relief. Hydroderm (Tub not pump bottle) and Dermeze are very good for this situation. Derrmezer if the skin is broken and Hydroderm if it is just warm and red.

Search this site for lots of eczema tips and advice. If symptoms still continue after treatment maybe then get another opinion.

Re: Can Eczema Be Thrush?

I have had this probably of late with my daughter I went to the chemist thinking it was the measles, as the pharmacy didnt think so he suggested QV oils in which I got and cost a fortune $60 dollars, as this didn't really help much and rash was getting worse all over body even on her bottom, I then took her to the  her paediatric doctor and he has now put her on a steroid cream day and night all over her body and has cleared up great.

As he told me children  who are asmatics are none  to have eczema.  So I would go with what your doctor has said eczema and if he has perscibe a cream apply it and you will notice difference if he has then go to chemist and ask for QV oil one for eczema and add this to bath and you will notice a difference to.

hope this helps lisam

Re: Can Eczema Be Thrush?

Hi Lisam. We have travelled the road you are on and I have wriiten some advise based on what worked for us after 8 months of frustration. This works to treat eczema but you may need some tests to find the cause. Our cat was the key factor in our family and almost 100% improvement onwe our cat was gone.

Re: Can Eczema Be Thrush?

if your son isn't bothered by it don't worry so much, with kids it could be anything,it's also that time of year that the new grasses are coming out, but go to you local chemist first and ask about natural creams first like micheal's,alpha keri, pinotasil(only use if it's weepy).iam a chronic suferer of ezcma, and my son also inherited the rash alphi keri oil in the bath(only a little bath gets very slippery)and the lotion after his bath and he'll enjoy the massge also!if it does persist go back to doc and he may have to go of the week steroid creams(this creates thinning of the skin so try the natural products first on such young skin).i also have found a melalueca lotion that works just type in melalueca on your computer i htink it's called the wellness company the lotion is 'renew intensive skin therapy'it's all trial and error with this skin condition.if you have agood repour with your chemist show the rash and they will usually know, good luck andtell your wife not to  worry.
