off the boob for good

My 11 month old boy is having all his solids now and hes been off the boob at night now for a few weeks but still wakes up in the night unsettled and upset sometimes..could it just be that hes teething i hate to let him cry but dont know if hes just not settling himself properly yet. Hes always had the boob to put him to sleep and we are trying to break the habit.what can i do to help ease the transition off the boob permanently??.Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Re: off the boob for good

when he wakes up try to wait a few minutes to see if he will go back to sleep on his own if not go in and tuck him back in make sure he is warm enought, tell him he is ok and say good night, and go back to bed.. if in a few minutes he is still crying go back and do the same, he should learn to fall asleep on his own after a few nights. If you give him a bottle or dummy at this time he will just use that in replacement of his breastfeed and you will find your self still getting up in the middle of the night to give him a bottle or dummy.

also make sure he has a full belly and is worn out before bed timke so he will sleep better, try getting a really solid routien like, bath bottle book bed for example.

good luck with it.

xoxo

Why not let him have a bottle of milk instead?
