Re: Ingrown Hair

I hope you havn't put a pin whole in this yourself. go see your dr. Although this can be embarrassing, you can cause yourself to have further infection with using unsterile products. I have seen this on many occasion in my work. good luck and so you know these are quiet common, once you have 1 it is normal to have aother one, so keep an eye out and seek advice soon as you notice any in future.

Re: Ingrown Hair

If it is  sore maybe it might be wise to get your doctor to lance it, I had one many years ago that had to be lanced.

I have heard of people using  a drawing ointment also but I've never tried that. Arna has given you some excellent advice,  I would also bathe the area  with warm salty water after you have tried to get the ingrown hair out.

I wish you well.

Cheers Janice

Re: Ingrown Hair

I have several in rather delicate spots that go away and come back all the time.  Gentle squeezing when in a warm bath/shower will help to open the hair follicle up which will make it easier to get the offending hair out.

You could also heat sterilize a needle/pin and try poking through the skin.  Just a word of warning, you might want tissues on hand and to gag yourself first, it can be very painful! lol.  Experience talking here remember! lol.  Because of the area you are dealing with, the skin may not be easily won over with the needle/pin, and it can take several attempts to get any where.

When using the pin, you will probably have to go quite deep into the affected area, but be as gentle as you can.  Also, attack several areas of the lump and squeeze at each puncture wound.  Once you get real blood, not just the watery blood that isn't really that, well, bloody, then move to the next area.  The blood is an indication that there is nothing left to get rid of.

Anything you do try will more than likely have to be repeated on a daily basis for a while, as this is a type of infection you are dealing with and the puss and muck will keep building up until it has no more to give.

Try and wear cotton knickers too, as they are more breathable than synthetics, or lose them altogether while at home and wearing a dress/skirt.  Air flow around it will help to heal it quicker.

Re: Ingrown Hair

Hi,

Ive had this before a few times and always in the same area and it went away on its own every time. My cousin had one really bad and it got pretty big and she popped it with a pin but i wouldnt do that. Just ask your doctor again if its causing you pain cos it could be a bad one that wont go away on its own.
