Hey ladies, we are booked in for our 20 week scan tomorow morning, and since we found out we are expecting both of us have been adamant we want to find out the sex, however as its now gotten closer we are both not sure hehehe
i know its a desicion we can only make but did any have similar feelings and what did you do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
just looking for others advice about it because we are both very un decided about it?!?!?1
Personally I love the mystery of not knowing, but that isn't right for everyone. There are different reasons that people find out or not, and sometimes it is in the room during the scan that people change their minds suddenly either way!
Whatever you decide I hope that you are both happy and remember - just because you know doesn't mean you have to tell anyone else - you can choose to keep it a surprise for relatives and close friends still!!
I didn't want to know but my partner did, I wasn't going to find out. He said he would find out and keep it from me and not tell (yeah right!) He want to find out said it was easier to pick a name and buy clothes etc....
When we went for the scan. I couldn't be the one not knowing so I found out. I wan't dissapointed that I found out. We had a boy.
Umm well with my 1st we definitely wanted to find out, It made it so much easier to buy things. Now i am pregnant with my 2nd We still want to find out. Just in case we need girl clothes, but if i get pregnant again I would love a surprise just because I would have the clothes no matter wat it is.
I didn't find out with my first two, both girls, but with my 3rd i left it up to my partner, it is his first child so i let him make the choice. I really wanted to know - i was SO hoping for a boy, turned out we didn't need to be told i could tell from the images on the screen at the ultrasound that we were having a boy!! YAY, anyway it's entirely up to you. If you do find out i suppose you could be more prepared - you'll know whether to buy pink or blue. Also sometimes bub will be laying in the wrong position at the time of the ultrasound and the sonographer might not even be able to tell you. Good luck with your decision!
My husband didn't want to find out - so for my first we didn't ask and it was a lovely surprise! For my 2nd I wanted to know but he didn't. I thought I could keep it a secret, and I managed to from everyone else, but bringing home pink clothes was kind of a giveaway to him.... Anyway, the sonographer was reluctant to tell me unless I was really sure I wanted to know, so you may find that if you are not sure they won't tell you - some places won't now!
Hi there Congrats!!!!! We had the same prob mostly for the second child but first we wanted the suprise.
We did discuss it and decided that we both enjoyed the suprise.... Me saying can you see it yet is it a gal or boy??? So we did decide even for the second to have the same suprise.....Even though i knew i was having a girl about 5 mins before i had her because the silly nurse brought in a pink blanket. I saw it and i didnt tell hubby bec i wanted one of us to have a suprise after the silly women stuffed it up lol.
Hope you both can make the right decision for yourselves.
We didnt find out what we were having. I had times when i wanted to and then others when i didn't. Shannon didn't really care either way. It was more me who was tossing and turning on the idea.
I did get told this idea from a lady who knew she was having a ceasar thou and i thought it was great...
When she had her ultrasound done, she asked the doctor to write the sex down on a piece of paper. She didnt want to find out what she was having, but she didnt want everyone else to know the sex of the baby before her if she was knocked out. She kept the piece of paper in an envelope and only looked at it just before they knocked her out. You could do this and only look at it if you are 100% sure you want to know.
Good luck at your ultrasound! Make sure you get them to give you photos!!
thanks for your advice, one of my girlfriends said about the envelope idea if we decided we didnt want to know then, i dotn know its such a temting thing to know, i suppose once we get there we will know!!!
Thansk and i will definatly get fotos an proudly post them up on here!!!!
